Project Leading the Way is a program utilizing science, engineering, technology, and math to develop skills for college readiness.
There will be an experiment done in our class today with a student of science and a student of mathematics working as a cooperative group.
The project will be that of a tin can robot. This is a form of project based learning.
However, this is just one of the projects of the several projects used to develop these skills. In late 2012, the Perot Museum opened in Dallas, Texas. The museum is a laboratory based museum catered to children to develop stem disciplines. There are various projects showcasing children working on building and using higher level thinking skills at beginning and intermediate levels.
Our society is immersed in vast amounts of technology and improvements being made daily with the use of skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Thus, Project Lead the Way will develop these skills for college readiness in various career paths.
